San Antonio has been ranked the strongest metropolitan area in the country for economic performance according to a new report from the Brookings Institution. SA is home to Randolph
AFB, Fort Sam Houston, Lackland AFT and Brooks-City Base. the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure decision alone is providing a significant economic punch to SA's economy through the consolidation of high-paying military health care jobs and more than $2 Billion worth of new construction activity.
In relation to this, the median price for a house in San Antonio is currently $185,116, a 2% decrease from a year ago says the MLS 2009 Statistics Report.
